Deep-and-mysterious atmospheres catapult to uplifting-and-funky peaks, dark-and-brooding moments shift to gentle-and-life-affirming throbs all with the greatest of ease, and set in an unmistakable Earthspace style.Taking the album title from the latin expression ‘In Medias Res’ (meaning : ‘in the midst of things’ or ‘into the middle of things’), and using it as a partial explanation for the process of which he stopped and started the creation of the album over the last few unsteady years, ‘In Medias Res’ shows an artist that is not scared to take risks during a time when music is so formulaic. Deep psychedelia is peppered with other worldly melodies, while hip-hop and reggae vocals dart over infectious grooves, not to mention the haunting beauty of the closing title track that features live recorded instruments drifting over a Dub groove.
